the hero was a young american and his very old chinese teacher .his teacher loved soap operas ,which he called his beautiful stories. the series was something like the the enforcer or the avenger or the assassin .the ..... ? they worked for some shadowy organisation but for the good. and they were very funny.

In the 80s i read a series of comic martial art novels ,almost novellas .what were they?
I didn't read them but it sounds like the movie The Adventures of Remo Williams. The film was based on the Destroyer series.
