I've beent aking wushu (chinese martial art) for some time now, and a friend wants to shoot a short fight scene with me and another friend who's pretty experienced. Our plan is to have the perfect blend of realistic and non-realistic things. For example, we're going to get punched FOR REAL (maybe put some padding in our gloves/hoodies/sweaters so we don't die) and get thrown into things that will break on contact. An example of non-realistic things would be doing flips, splits, and adding legit wushu techniques that would probably not be used too oftenly in real-life situations.
My question would be...for Asian martial arts fans, what would you MOST like to see in a short fight scene (low budget one at least done by young college kids)? Imagine the best fight sequence that you've ever seen. What would be in it?

That link is a vid of a pretty good example of a combo of reality and non-reality...if you like moon lee
True martial arts fans?
I think it would be really cool if you would use some extension cords you find and start whippin' the $hit outta each other!
Reply:I would like to see a good Tonfa fight, or three section staff!.
My daughter is a student for the last 7 years...she enjoys a good Bo fight.
Reply:Hopefully you know what your doing.
Personally, I like stick play. Break a couple of branches off of some trees and beat the crap out of each other.
Maybe you could make it appear as if you scalped your foe, and beat the snot out of him with his own scalp.
Reply:Ever tried slapping each other silly with a Trout? Try it, believe me, I'd pay to watch that : P
Reply:The Female fight scene was a good combination of realistic and non realistic. Personally I would like to see more hand techniques and low kicks for the reality side. For the non realistic parts, I've always loved the jump scenes in kung fu movies. The twenty foot jumps, with the flapping of wings background sound effect is so cheesy it's cool.
Reply:Watched the vid twice must have missed the realistic part unless it was the guy at the end with a gun.
Smack each other with a trout good idea shoot the whole thing in a fish store.
Reply:for non reality u can do anything u want but for reality i wanna see day to day activity like how to save from bear hug, chokes, how to defend against knife and gun attack, how to use locks on some one who is stronger than u....how to handel the fight in dark and how to escape from multiple attack...these r the things of todays need...if u can show these things then yr video will be excellent...if u cant then u need tochange yr style and move to some thing reality
Reply:How about with no paddings.Make t like a street fight with true martial arts.It would be more exciting.bare the pain to enjoy the video. :)
Reply:Wow...very interesting movie....how long does it take to get to that level? They must be master level...I am sure.
